Hyaluronic Acid- Hyaluronic Serums & Creams by Chris Farrell

Hyaluronic acid is one of nature’s most effective moisture-retaining agents and, at the same time, a substance that your body produces on its own. However, this ability decreases with age. The skin loses volume, appears duller, and fine lines caused by dryness develop more quickly. Our hyaluronic serums and creams address this issue directly. They specifically replenish moisture reserves and promote plumper, fresher-looking skin.

Frequently asked questions about - Hyaluronic Acid

What is the difference between hyaluron and hyaluronic acid?

Hyaluron and hyaluronic acid refer to the same active ingredient—they are simply different spellings. In cosmetics, the short form “hyaluron” is often used, while in science and on ingredient lists, the term “sodium hyaluronate” refers to the salt form of hyaluronic acid, which is particularly gentle on the skin and absorbs well.

What is the difference between high- and low-molecular-weight hyaluronic acid?

The molecular size determines how deeply hyaluronic acid penetrates the skin. High-molecular-weight (long-chain) hyaluronic acid forms a fine film on the skin’s surface, protects against moisture loss, and provides an immediate smoothing effect. Low-molecular-weight (short-chain) hyaluronic acid is smaller and penetrates deeper into the skin, where it stores moisture long-term and plumps the skin from within. The new Hyaluron Gel Serum by Chris Farrell combines both variants for optimal deep penetration.

How often should I use a hyaluronic serum?

Hyaluronic serums are designed for daily use: in the morning and, if needed, in the evening as well. The Hyaluronic Booster is applied to cleansed skin in the morning and can be reapplied in the evening. The Shape Resurfacing is recommended for daily use after cleansing and toning.

Can I combine hyaluronic acid with other active ingredients?

Yes, hyaluronic acid is an exceptionally well-tolerated active ingredient and can be easily combined with other skincare ingredients. It works particularly well with vitamin A (retinyl palmitate), peptides, and coenzyme Q10. Important: Always apply the hyaluronic acid serum first, then the moisturizer.

When will I see the first results with hyaluronic acid?

The first results—a plumper, more hydrated skin feel—are often noticeable after just a few days. The immediate smoothing effect of Shape Resurfacing is often visible right after the first application. For lasting improvements in skin texture, regular use over several weeks is recommended.

What is hyaluronic acid and how does it work?

Hyaluronic acid is a molecule produced naturally by the body that occurs naturally in connective tissue. Its special property: it can bind many times its own weight in water. Almost like a tiny sponge that fills the empty spaces between collagen fibers. This is exactly why hyaluronic acid is considered so effective in skincare.

Chris Farrell relies on Sodium Hyaluronate, the skin-friendly salt form of hyaluronic acid that penetrates the skin particularly well. The new Hyaluron Gel Serum from Chris Farrell takes it a step further: It combines short-chain and long-chain hyaluronic acid molecules in a multi-hyaluronic complex. The short-chain molecules penetrate deep into the skin, while the long-chain molecules form a protective layer on the surface. This way, you benefit from immediate freshness and support skin plumping.

What can hyaluronic acid do for your skin?

Hyaluronic acid is much more than a simple moisturizer. An overview of its key benefits:

  • Moisture retention: Hyaluronic acid can bind water in the skin, helping to reduce transepidermal water loss. This is one of the main causes of fine lines caused by dryness and tight skin.
  • Smoothing: Fine lines caused by moisture loss can be visibly reduced with regular hyaluronic acid care, leaving the skin looking plumper and smoother.
  • Firming: Highly concentrated hyaluronic acid formulations like the Shape Resurfacing provide intensive care and can result in a visibly firmer, more relaxed complexion.
  • Intensive Care: The Concentrate Seristim Super combines hyaluronic acid with argan stem cell extract for intensive hydration and a visibly fresher, more nourished complexion.

Who are hyaluronic acid products suitable for?

The good news: Hyaluronic acid is suitable for nearly every skin type. It is well-tolerated, non-greasy, and beneficial for both younger and mature skin. It is particularly suitable for:

  • Dehydrated skin that feels tight or dry
  • Mature skin with fine lines caused by dryness or reduced elasticity
  • Tired, dull skin that lacks volume and freshness
  • Sensitive skin that needs gentle active ingredients free of fragrance and preservatives
  • All skin types looking to take preventive measures against premature aging

Our skincare tips for using hyaluronic acid

Tip 1: Apply hyaluronic acid to damp skin

Hyaluronic acid binds water and therefore works best when applied to slightly damp skin. After cleansing, do not let the skin dry completely; instead, apply the hyaluronic acid serum directly to the skin while it is still slightly damp.

Tip 2: Follow the order: Serum before cream

A hyaluronic serum should always be applied before your day cream. It absorbs first and deeply nourishes the skin. The day cream applied afterward seals in the moisture and enhances the effect. With Shape Resurfacing, a special layering technique is even recommended: Apply the second drop directly over the day cream that hasn’t been fully massaged in yet.

Tip 3: Use the Hyaluronic Booster topically as well

Does the eye area look tired or wrinkled? The Hyaluronic Booster can also be applied topically to the eye area as needed—for a quick burst of freshness exactly where it’s needed.

Tip 4: Consistency is key

Hyaluronic acid achieves its full effect with consistent daily use. After just a few days, the skin feels the difference, and the result can be plumper, more hydrated, and smoother-feeling skin.
